So every body is watching FLorence right now. And obviously she's not coming to Jacksonville FL. But I was thinking an app that tracks these storms and is updated pretty regular, would be a valuable tool for somebody living in the region. I've got the Weather channel app like everyone, but something with more storm specific data would be very usuful. Has anybody come across an app like this, or is there a setting on the weather channel app that gives you mapps and storm data?

thanks

I purchased an app called "Hurricane Tracker" (I believe it was $3.99) few years ago and they do a really great job. You can also follow them on Twitter @hurrtrackerapp

I've followed many who report on hurricanes and they are hands down the best.

Some other good follows:

Mike's Weather Page: @tropicalupdate

Levi Cowan: @tropicaltidbits

All 3 tweet regularly when the tropics heat up and their info is invaluable.

I do not use any Aps on my mobile instruments , but I ckeck daily on the Lap Top thru the Web Browser and actually on the iPad the Web Site for the ~National Hurricane Center~ To me the ONLY credible site for the up to date Storms Info.

Weather Channels and Locals News get inflated and out of proportions.

Max Tracker is the best hurricane app I've tried. I think you'll like it.
