Sailboats - I imagine would be ridiculous.

Canoes...equally ridiculous. I looked into this somewhat extensively, because I love canoeing, and was disappointed to find out that the only real place to rent is Kayak Amelia out in Talbot Island, and it's not cheap. From the website:

Join a Guided Kayak / Nature Tour
Guided tours are planned to go with the current and start with a short instruction on land. You will then paddle to a sandbar for a snack and swim in warm weather. Then paddle to the take out location. Along the way the guides describe the salt marsh eco-system, critters and local history. Fee $55/person (includes all gear and a snack)

OR
Create your own adventure
and Rent a canoe or Kayak
We supply the kayak or canoe, PFD's, paddles and map. Depending on the tide and weather we can make suggestions routes, local sites and what to avoid. All rentals leave from our location and need to stay here in the State Park. So that means paddling against the current half the time. We have sit in and sit on top kayaks. The office is open from 9am-5pm everyday. No reservations for rentals.

Rentals
Single kayak: up to 4 hours = $30; over 4 hours = $45
Tandem kayak or canoe: up to 4 hours = $45; over 4 hours = $60
I don't know about you, but I don't want to paddle against the current at ANY point; sometimes going the direction you want is hard enough.

If you feel like investing in or have your own canoe or kayak, there are plenty of other places to go (Amelia Island/Talbot Island has a launch ramp that you can use for $1) and there are other various waterways and such where I'm sure you could take it.

Also, on the subject of movies, check out the selection at the library. They have a fairly wide selection of movies - even newer releases and it's free (provided you have a library card and don't have racked up overdue fines...such as myself).

Adventure Landing has coupons on their website. Take note that the golf course isn't really anything special, and if you bring your own golf ball, I'm sure you could walk in and around, grab a putter and play for free, or, pay for the single game, skip hole 18 and play both courses "for the price of one".

I too wish there was a $1 theater here. Good call on the Playtime Triple Family Drive In. It's not fancy by any means, but it is pretty cheap ($5 a person I think). Especially if you catch 2 movies while you are there. San Marco theater is very nice, but not exactly kid friendly. It's more of a date place. My wife and I love it! If you factor in dinner (their pizza is great) and having wine or beer with dinner, it is a better deal than the multiplexes! Also another thing to note, Cinemark's Tinseltown has its matinees starting much earlier than Regal making it a much better deal before 6pm or so.

Where is Playtime Drive-in? My kids have never been to one and that would make a great family evening!

Wow! Good to know!

Also, on a side note I was driving down Blanding Blvd, and I saw a for sale sign in front of the Playtime Drive-In, I don't know if they are selling the business or just the land.
