It seems that our City Leaders are all about finding ways to generate more income for Duval County! How about finding ways to Save Money ? Any thoughts on this? Obviously the faster we grow the more money will become available for them to spend. Is it time for a Change of the Guard?

Enforcing exisiting ordinances will save money.

Training city staff to understand the ordinances for their department will save money.

Having a responsive local government will save money.

Putting two law enforcement officers in a car will save money, as they won't need two cars on the most nothing of calls.

Letting the yellow-shirted non-officers replace officers at road construction sites and at intersections with inoperable street lights will save money.

Do you mean in the Governor's house?

A friend asked me to do a criminal check on someone recently, and I used to be able to do this for free on FDLE. Now they want $23 per search and if your search comes up with nothing, you still pay the $23! So if you're looking for "John Smith", good luck! You'll be paying $23 over and over again until you find the John Smith you're looking for....talk about making it difficult for people!

...but nickel and dimeing the taxpayers in that way will generate more income for the city .

Wink Some new Faces downtown!

I just was thinking that maybe some of the folks downtown have gotten a bit to comfortable and need a wake up call. There are lots of people in Jacksonville struggling along and more taxes and fees for this and that are not what the average citizen needs right now. If we had a few new faces things might just move along a little faster. And a bit cheaper!
