For your work location, price, and desire to be in a good area, I would think northern St Johns county(Fruit Cove, Julington Creek, CR210 area), Bartram Park, or Mandarin are your best bets.

Do you have kids in school? If so, St Johns has the best schools by far. All of this area is close to 295 and will give you a pretty quick commute.
Not true at all. Duval county has schools rated higher in all three categories (elementary, middle and high school) than St. Johns. Duval appears first on the list every single time.

And you have to bear in mind that the poorer performing schools bring the grading down, so those schools that are rated highly would be even higher standing on their own.

Agree that St. Johns has less poor performing schools, but to say that they have the "best" schools is simply not true. Jax Beach Elementary, James Weldon Johnson, Paxon, Stanton, Bolles, Episcopal, etc.....nothing in St. Johns County even comes close to those schools.

Fleming Island. Good schools. Quiet. Affordable.
