I have been on the internet looking for information regarding property taxes for disabled veterans in Florida. I have read a disability of at least 10% qualifies for up to 5000 tax exemption. Does this refer to the assessed amount or 5000.00 off of yearly property tax bill? Also does it also apply to HOA fees and CDD fees?
Any and all replies are appreciated. Thank you!

I’m guessing you’ve already read the information at this link COJ.net - Disabled Veterans Exemption

Item 2 seems to answer your question, if that’s the part that applies to you, as a disabled veteran.

As for HOA and CDD fees, that’s something that would be unique to a specific community, since those are private entities. But, I can say I’ve never heard of such a discount.

In a nutshell:

As a Veteran, you qualify for $5000 of homestead exemption, i. e. the value you have to pay property taxes on is reduced by $5000.

100% disabled veterans do not pay any property taxes in Florida.

There is no veteran exemption for HOA fees, at least not to my knowledge and experience (hubby is a veteran).
