What is it like? Growing area? People moving out west now? Cute little town, still an hour from the beach.

Well I know there are lots of deadly car crashes there. Not sure why. I like Callahan a little better. (The other rural in the middle of nowhere place near Jax) I have a couple friends that live in Macclenny. They grew up there and stayed even while having jobs in Jax and plenty of opportunity to move if they wanted to.

Macclenny is a cute little city out in the country with a more traditional southern feel. It's quiet and surrounded by vast forests. It has basic conveniences like a couple grocery stores, Walmart and a few restaurants, CVS, etc. Even a hospital. Easy access to I-10. It is far from the beach.

It is a growing area, but not rapid growth like you see in Jacksonville. It's a small city with a population of around 10,000. It's very, very conservative.

It is a long commute to downtown Jacksonville, but some people do it.

I also know someone who lives there in his 30's and lived there his entire life and commutes to Jax for work. There aren't too many quality jobs in Macclenny that pay well.
