I've been a subscriber for over 30 years, my parents were subscribers since the 50s. I've read the paper for over 60 years. I mainly read the Sports, and dismayed by the decline in coverage. I really like High School Sports, as I have coached youth sports since the 70s and love to read about my old players in HS. Since the Jags came, all other sports coverage suffer. An example: The Thursday night game in Jax. started at 8ish and there were several articles about the game the next day, and that is cool. The next day (Friday), High School games started at 6pm, but the games were not covered because ''the games weren't over by press time!'' The Friday (high school) games were over before the time the Jags game started! Friday night games don't have write ups until Sunday. If we are supposed to be a major city, don't we deserve to have a major newspaper?

Sadly, hard copy newspapers are a dying business model. By the time you get your hands on it, it can be very outdated. I used to love cracking open the newspaper every morning but I have heard similar complaints about the Times Union, as well as neighbors here commenting on their poor billing practices. Best just to subscribe to their online service which is cheaper and gives you 24/7 updates.

I subscribe for A few months at a time when offered a sizable discount. I then get a letter that the price is doubling. I cancel and then wait for the next offer. They should just price the paper reasonably.
