I will be in your town for a few hours in late January and would like to hit the beach while I am there. It appears the three listed in the title are closest to the airport and since my time is short I would probably only consider these.

Looking at Google Maps, it appears that Little Talbot would probably be my favorite. No development and a nice unspoiled beach and view. Of the three which do you prefer and why?

Talbot is closest to the airport. It's also a great beach. Fort Clinch state park and beach is nice too on the way into Fernandina Beach. Atlantic Beach is a bit of a drive, about 45-60 minutes depending on traffic and where you end up finding parking in Atlantic Beach. Enjoy the few hours, though watch the time if you have a connecting flight.

I would say based on a short trip that Fort Clinch on Amelia would be your best bet as far as location being easiest to get to and from JIA. Little Talbot is a beautiful unspoiled beach but not the best location if you are looking for quick in and out. How much time do you have?

Fort Clinch is a great location for finding shark's teeth also.

Good luck

I stand corrected, I just Googled it and Little Talbot is closer. We generally visit a few miles north of the park entrance where there is a trail out to the beach that is pretty secluded and pristine. It is still part of little Talbot.

Thanks for the replies.

I will be landing around 11:30a at JAX and I am not due in Tallahassee until 6-7p so I figure I have a good 3 hours of beach time. From what I have read, Little Talbot is $5 per car and I assume Fort Clinch is the same?

Should be the same. Fort Clinch does have two restaurants a stones throw from the entrance. One on the beach and one across the street.
