As many of you who have followed me for years know, I had serious reservations about the use of a "tape" to protect new homes from moisture intrusion, as well it's ability to withstand the test of time. Those reservations have been laid to rest, and after extensive testing at a facility in Texas, the jury is in, and the Zip System actually performs better than housewrap.

Matt Risinger is a very well knows Building expert, so for anyone building new construction, I recommend you watch this video:

Obviously if housewrap is done correctly it will still perform, but the differentiating factor here is the energy efficiency. Each new home adds a certain "load" if you will to the energy required to be produced to service that home. Adding thousands of homes per year puts more and more load on our environment, so any way we can reduce the energy consumption is a good thing. The Zip System by Huber does that better than any current housewrap on the market.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to this absolutely chaotic disaster that we currently call 2020.

Take care everyone!
