My good friend in Jacksonville, FL has to put her parents in a memory care home this week and they have two adult cats that need to be rehomed immediately. She hasn't had any luck with rescues that will take adult cats so I'm reaching out to anyone in that area of Jacksonville - Orange Park, Middleburg, the beaches, etc.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. We have posted on Facebook and I'm going to widen my reach to all of my Fb friends instead of just the ones in Jacksonville as you never know who knows who.

There should be a community cat page or something in Jacksonville. Reach out to maybe the south FL area, Miami, as some rescues, like Bella's Promise, might be able to take in.

Until then, look for a temp foster for them. Whatever you (your friend) do, do not take to shelter, basically a guarantee death sentence.

But your friend cannot take the cats into her home?

Especially kitten season is upon us, there shelters are overrun and overwhelmed. You could contact the shelter and tell them you are trying to rehome them as you foster them and leave a picture and description of the cats, they may put it up at their facilities, and possibly their website. Shelters will try to do what th hey can to help, especially if it means one less animal being surrenderd to them.
