I’m wondering when did 32218 become a war zone? Last year, 32218 reported 19 homicides, which puts it in competition with 32208-09. Those 3 zips account for roughly half of Jacksonville’s homicides. 32218 has the better Northside neighborhoods because this zip is close to the Airport. Two things come to mind: 1. 32218 is close to Northside’s bad areas or 2. The criminal element of 32208-09 is creeping into 32218. I’ve been living in 32218 for years, and I’ve never felt like I was back in the hood. I’m from the Northside, and I remember when violent crime was confined to 32208-09; it never went past Dunn Ave. Times have changed.

At least half of those incidents were in the Harts Rd area, from what I can see on the map at your link. Not that it matters, but that does seem to be a changing area.

Harts Rd. used to be a nice area in the past, but now...not so much. I'm not alarmed by it because growing up in the Northside ghetto of 32208, I've seen my fare share of murders/shootings, drug sales, etc., but I never expected crime to creep up in the Harts Rd. area.
