I finally tood a trip to Jacksonville. The weather is great, as is the food and the people. Now where do I live. I went out with a realtor who drove me around for 8 hours and I am so confused. I have horses and saw a nice home in an older neighborhood near chaffee rd and old?? road. It was in a flood zone and I don't like old homes. Can someone tell me where I should look to find a nuce newer home with acreage. iwill spent 350-550,000.

Are you going to be working, because that would be a factor for your commute. You might also ask your Realtor about some of the new equestrian communities that have popped up, to see if anyone has built homes on them yet (these communities were selling lots).

There are some new equestrian communities off 210 in St. Johns County (Go east off I-95). I don't know if you could get in for less than $550k but with the state of the real estate market anything might be possible.

St. Johns Communities featured Equestrian community Whitelock Farms

St. Johns Communities featured community Bartram Downs

Two comments.

1. You said the food was great. Are you sure you were in Jacksonville? Either you have really low standards or your plane dropped you off in Jersey or South Florida.

2. If you are going to "spent" 350-550 k, why are you looking in Jacksonville? For that cash, I would buy a condo in Miami and a vacation home in Costa Rica.

oh yeah the horses....sorry about that. I guess horses don't work out too well in the condo in Miami. And how you gonna get those horses from here to Costa Rica huh?

But seriously the food.....seriously! This is not a good place for food. Don't tell me that. That comment about the food shook me up. It really shook me up. I was shaking my head and splashing cold water on my face!

Miami sucks and Costa Rica is corrupt. Jacksonville has good food. Jersey has polluted water and smells real bad. South Florida sucks too. Jacksonville is a much better area and the food is good compared to all the mexican food that is offered where i live and better than all the cuban food of south florida. ITs all relative.

Let's get back on track and see if we can come up with any ideas for a horse property, $350-$550k, and a new/newer home...
