Nocatee gets all the press, but what other developments in Jacksonville and the surrounding counties should be on the radar? We're especially interested in newer developments (450 - 700K) single family detached home, 3-5 BRs and dedicated office, no kids at home. Is there something with a more conventional city block grid, sidewalks, and less Wildlife area?

Newer and City block grid might be hard.. if older is ok, look at Riverside-Avondale in Jacksonville.

Nassau County I believe is the hottest area after Saint Johns County in Florida or close to it. Growth here is on fire. We have Amelia Park on Amelia Islamd and Wildlight off island that fits your wants.

Good luck and welcome to the area!

Silverleaf - we looked at all the St Johns County developments for our daughter and this one stood out as a long term play

This is going to end up as large as some cities. Driving south down 2209 you hit it just past CR 210 and you drive, drive and drive some more, 15 minutes with hardly any stops going 50mph and you're STILL IN SILVERLEAF!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have a long term time frame this will most likely be the next Nocatee and the prices are still reasonable. Once the new highway goes in it will take off like a shot IMHO.

Where is the new highway and where can I read about it? I'd like to buy in Silverleaf, but want to make sure I get it on the right side of any highway, etc.

They are referring to the First Coast Expressway
FIRSTCOASTEXPRESSWAY.COM

Currently it only exists in Clay County

It wont impact St Johns county until the end of the decade on the current schedule.

I have to say, the building of State Road 9B has sure been a boon to our area. Getting to different parts of Jax is now a breeze thanks to that new little stretch of road. I think that's eventually going to connect with the FC Expressway, which will make heading south much easier as well.
