we have been away from Jax for 4 years, taking care of parents in their final years, and will return this summer -- my husband is still employed there. Since we have a young child now who has special needs/the right school, we need month to month so we can be in the right school district after we investigate and find the appropriate school for her. Is Corporate housing the only way to go on this. We'll need furnished, and I really don't want the expense or additional time etc. involved in renting furniture. We'll move ours up when we find a permanent rental home in the decided upon school district. Also, what is the best way for finding nannies/sitters/mom's helpers? How reliable is craigslist there - things change in 4 years but can't wait to get back to Jax.

You might post something on craigslist re: housing. Not sure how reliable it is when it comes to housing, but it wouldn't hurt to place an ad. Our neighbors travel for months at a time and made friends with a waitress where they ate breakfast all the time. Now the waitress is staying at their house- gives her a nice home and they don't have to leave their house empty. You might find a similar situation, as some folks are leaving for the summer months.

Would you consider living in a place that is for sale? A woman in my neighborhood has a 2/2.5 townhouse that is FSBO. If you could put up with showing it to potential buyers, she may consider a month-to-month.
