We are looking for information that can help us compare these areas from a housing development, community, and lifestyle point of view.

We have lived in a country club/ gated community, we also have lived in a urban comunity with proximity advantages. This next stage of our lives is about retiring and having a comfortable home 3700-4200sq ft.
We would perfer a gated secure community and golf is a important factor in the choice.

We have spent significant time looking at PVB and the communities there. The Plantation is wonderful but the manditory membership and costs are the negatives. We have looked at Marsh Landing and had concerns with the future and health of the club. We understand it has recently been aquired and will experience updating.
It is a larger development with opportunities that can vary in cost and home size providing more options.

The Sawgrass community seems very overwhelming with so many homes and long wait list to join the club. Although it like the Plantation, gives you the additional amenity of a beach club.

We are familiar with the other gated communities without amenities of a club and would welcome information on living within those gates and playing or belonging to a club outside.

Our final thoughts and need for assistance is the City of Jacksonville, thus the desire to find people who are familiar with Orlando area and Jacksonville.

Where in Jacksonville are areas like :

Heathrow
Windermere
Winter Park
Rose Isle
Lake Sybilia / Maitland
College Park
Longwood/ Markam Woods Rd. area.

We look forward to getting this information and starting a more educated view of the Jacksonville market.

thank you

We live in PVB and couldn’t be happier. We do not live in a gated community so no HOA fees, etc. we feel the zoning regulations are more than adequate to ensure a good environment. We belong to the PVIC but my understanding is, there is a waiting list to join. If the beach is important to you, Micklers is a very nice beach and there are beaches off of AIA with parking. There are very nice restaurants in then area and while JAX is convenient, except for Costco, I rarely leave the “island”. Politically, it’s also very conservative, which is a plus for us.
