It is like an alarm clock around 630 to 640 in the morning. I hear the pecking of that annoying little bird. Have you guys tried anything that works?

You got bugs..........most times when wood peckers are pecking away...they are looking for food...since they have been pecking at your house....I would suggest that you hire an exterminator and/or buy something you can spray on and do it your self.......

Tack sheets of aluminum foil on the areas of the house where woody is woodpecking. It worked for me.

I agree, you need to get up there and take a look - sounds like you have soft wood (and bugs). Woodpeckers should not be on your house .

If you have a pair of binoculars handy, you can try to see what they're doing up there .

I thought of getting wind chimes. Anyone have ideas for the type of wind chimes to get?

Our neighbors have a huge cedar that's basically dead, and this spring a woodpecker couple moved in and had babies . It's been fun watching them.

Titanium, hopefully you've been able to get things checked out by now and there's no crack in the stucco (probably wood frame underneath the stucco, I imagine ).

I don't about the windchime deterrent, but I saw this spider thing:

Woodpecker Deterrent - Birds-Away Attack Spider®

The birds in my house (parrots) love shiny noisy things, so a windchime would be a good time for them...not sure how woodpeckers feel about shiny noisy things .
