hi everyone!

I have been surfing these boards for a few weeks now and have found a good portion of the posts very informative. I will be one of the few people moving to Jax from the NJ location of Deutsche Bank. I wanted to know a good area to settle down in (being single with no children). What is the cost of living like, median income around the area, etc etc. Is there anyone who can give me a birds eye run down of all the things i should know before I move down? Thanks in advance

You can find a lot of Jax demographics here:

As for where to live....

Seems like you'll be working on Gate Parkway. This is an area predominantly of new construction. It's a nice area, and you might want to locate yourself here initially while you get a feel for the city. Like a lot of new construction areas, it is somewhat devoid of charm (more like a big shopping center area), but it's safe and clean and convenient. You'd be very close to the Saint Johns Town Center - a popular dining and shopping center - and you'll be fairly close to the beach too.

So that's my first thought, but maybe you can tell us more of what you're looking for?

to ad to rivs info
What are you looking to pay rent wise ?
Will the company send you down to look for an apt or will you have to do everything from NJ ?
What part of NJ are you in now ? There are many of us "former Jersey folks" that can let you know of similar areas

It has been mentioned on several threads the difference in pay between Jersey & Jax
So if your coming down with your current salary you may be in for a nice surprise.

I moved here from NJ 16 years ago and really like living here
