Lakes and Intercoastal Waterways in/around Jax......how are they? We will be buying a medium size cabin cruiser later. Are there any nice lakes around (suburbs or further) Jax? We know the St. James River is there, but do many Pleasure Boats use that river? That river does have commercial freighters use it, correct? Just don't know much about that river and "pleasure boating".

it's the st johns river, and afaik it is a great place for boats, there is commerical boat traffic north of the I95 bridge, but there is little reason to go up there. Also there is the ICW which can be a nice slow trip

Miles and miles of waterways to explore with your boat.

You can take your boat to the Jags game and tie up to the dock next to the stadium to tailgate. Many boats will be on the water this weekend for the Fireworks show downtown.

Great fishing, restaurants that you can boat to with your family include Clark's and Whitey's. Give me a call if you have any questions...

Have a great 4th of July..

Default Dry stack storage for power boats

Does anyone know of some good places to store our water ski boat? We now have it in a dry stack storage warehouse in a marina in VA, but haven't seen anyplace that compares in the Jacksonville area.

Ok, there are more than a few choices in the Jax area for dry rack storage. Here are a few I would recommend. Keep in mind these are only a few of your options. They all are direct St. Johns river access marinas. There are others as well, not to mention some ICW options as well.

1. Julington Creek Marina- Julington Creek Marina in Florida, United States. Buy high quality framed images, prints, t-shirts. Up to date marine weather, services information, and photos

12807 San Jose Blvd
Jacksonville, FL 32223

2. Doctor's Lake Marina - Doctors Lake Marina

3108 U.S. Highway 17 South
Orange Park, FL 32003

3. Goodby's Creek Marina - North Florida Yacht Sales

8940 San Jose Blvd
Jacksonville, FL 32257

Hope this helps. Also if you want any boat ramp information, let me know..... I know them all..... the good, the bad and the ugly.
