As the job search continues, and without much luck, I am wondering what the job market is for "real jobs" (Outside of the media) Ideally, I would like to be outside, maybe on a golf course or something like that.

Have you checked in with some of the marketing companies around town. With your media knowledge you might be able to add depth to their teams.

ok this may be probably one of the wackiest suggestions you may get
we have had a thread somewhere on the "bargain channel" it is a radio station that exchanges products for advertising
they then have radio hosts that offer these products to the folks of JAX and lol a lot more people listen to this channel than sometimes will admit
the entertainment factor at times is as wacky as some will think this suggestion is
I think I remember seeing ads for them a lot in the local papers

There are quite a few but I know the Dalton Agency is a well know one, you have Carroll/White Marketing, CFMedia as well as many others. I would Google them and see what you come up with. You might also find something as suggessted with the Business Journal site for more options.
I listen to the Bargain Channel all the time. How funny. That is also a good option although there is a hint of selling there (really making the products sound so much better then they actually are sometimes).

omg lol the fine quality and product variety sells it self
I mean where else can you get the resin bear sitting on a log fishing for a mere 3 dollars and 99 cent note you have to leave the s off cents
or a case of canned peaches or boiled peanuts
I keep saying I am going to get up early enough to listen to the swap shop that has to be very entertaining
