Has anyone used Maronda Homes. I am looking at a new home in Nassau county. Just wanted to get some feed back on the builder. Good or bad.

Thanks

Their claim to fame is the fact that they are concrete block construction. Don't expect to get alot of upgrades however.

I suggest your do your research first and DO NOT listen to what others tell you. Having worked for "high-end" Builders as well as MAronda Homes, I can tell you that Maronda Homes builds to the SAME EXACT codes as all other builders do that simply charge $100K more for their product. The same materials are being used to build homes in Florida. Whether homeowners want to believe it or not, lack of homeownership is the #1 cause of why people claim their homes leak, etc.
If they maintained their home as they should, perhaps they would not be having the problems they have had with their new homes.
With the forclosure rate at an all time high in todays real estate market, do you really expect someone to shell out maintence fees to do necessary work to their homes when they are not even making their monthly mortgage payments? I think not.

Well that last comment kind of came out of nowhere, but ok.

I work in the home-building industry for a "competing" builder to Maronda. What I can tell you is that their pricing is competitive, and the comments made previously about being a concrete-block construction are true. I also agree that you don't get many extras with these homes...their basically a "get the most square footage for the money" kind of builder. I also don't think they will let you choose any options and they only build "spec" homes (they may have changed their philosophy lately...check for yourself). I can't speak for their construction quality (I'm sure it's fine) or their warranty or customer service work...that's what I would suggest you do your homework on. Hope that helps.
