Amateur shoppers like me don't dare venture out on Black Friday for fear of being crushed in a stampede in one of the stores.

We've done BF for a few years now...for some reason, every year seems to be getting worse and worse...not sure why. I always get my antivirus software on BF, b/c the deals are really good in the stores, plus other techie things that I crave ..other than that, maybe a good deal on a flat screen? The BF ads online are always helpful, but other posters are right, I haven't seen anything really jump out at me...

I may go to JCPenney for their giveaway at the door. But, I refuse to get up at the crack of dawn and stand in a line to get into a retail store.
After Penneys, I may just go sit out in the mall and watch.

I won't be doing too much shopping on Friday. I want to put up my tree on Friday then hopefully go to the craft show "Christmas in the South" at Prime Osborn Convention Center on Saturday.

In my hubby's family we have settled over the years into ordering some food items online. You don't have to dust it, exchange it, hide it in the garage until the family comes to visit. You can just eat it and forget it, or you can throw a party with it. LOL One brother-in-law sends Omaha Steaks, another sends restaurant gifts cards, we send Swiss Colony. This year my husband recently found his Swedish grandmother's recipe box so he is making a copy for his brothers and intents to include some homemade cookies from her recipes.

In my family there is just my sister and I left, so while I do send her family Swiss Colony I buy them gifts as well. Her baby boy is 18 this year and will be graduating from Army boot camp just before Christmas, so she is suffering the empty nest syndrome this year.

I'm making some beaded & scented ornaments for friends this year. I have most of the stuff for that already.

So mostly I will be "shopping" for the hubby. We tend to spend more money on Christmas activities then actual gifts for each other and that makes us both happy.

We do Black Friday every year just for the tradition of it LOL - I can't wait until my daughter is old enough... it's fun.
