I am new to Jacksonville from NY and have been renting for a few months. Now I am looking to buy. I would like some suggestions on the neighborhoods.

I have rented in Arlington and Neptune Beach. Obviously I LOVE the beaches but the price is too hefty. I want to stay within a 150K range. Looking for a decent sized house but would rather more land as fiance is a contractor and can add on.

Anyways I was thinking Southside or Arlington/Ft Caroline but had a question on a particular area.

The area is near Terry Parker high school. Well actually by Merril and Terry Parker. I do not like Merril going up closer to University but wondered about the areas from Rogero down to 9A on Merril. Anyone have any advice?

Green Cove Springs is an excellent area to consider because of future growth potential and it's still possible to find an affordable home on a good sized lot. Of course, where you work and your personal priorities is a primary consideration.

"Of course, where you work a primary consideration."
this is very true
what part of town do you work in
I have also noticed that north on 9a it is less expensive
there are larger lots in the green cove area but can be a long drive to work

The housing price in Jax is going down. The median price was already down about 10% since 2006. Please check http://www.housingtracker.net/old_ho.../Jacksonville/

Default Professional help

I know a great realtor in the area. She is real down to earch and I have known her for years. I lived in Jax before relocating to NC. Just pm me and I will provide her information to you. I am sure she can help or at least steer you in the right direction. Good luck.
