Then that opens up a lot more possibilities . Your work is close to many nice neighborhoods depending on the style house you want (new/newer, older/historic, etc.).

I would assume that the older/historic neighborhoods would be out of my price range, would they not? I do enjoy the older homes as I believe they are made better (boy I sound like my father). Thanks for the comments and I'll keep trying to sort through it!

At 300k they would not be out of your range, it really depends on how restored or modernized you would want the home to be. These homes may top out your budget depending upon what you are wanting in a home.

Check out http://realtor.com
This is the preservation society for Riverside-Avondale Riverside Avondale Preservation
This one is San Marco San Marco Preservation Society and this one is for Springfield, which would not be on my short list, but I know a certain member whom would get upset if we left out his 'hood Welcome to Historic Springfield!

You might also want to check out homes near the Hodges/JTB Intersection (about 15 min to JTB/SSide in the morning). I know that Chets Creek Elementary is supposed to be very good, and you would be pretty close to the beach too

IS there any place on the net that shows the school districts that I can use in my search?

Short answer, no. The closest would be a zip code search.

A Realtor has tools in which they can search with that criteria, but it is unreliable because you are relying on another Realtor to even 1. put that info on a listing & 2. have correct info on the listing.

Your best bet is to find out the boundaries for the school you have in mind, do a zip code search and weed through the ones that are not in the school's boundaries that you desire. This will produce the most accurate results so you don't potentially miss out on a great home or get one and find out it is not in the boundaries.

Found it! The site is really hard to nav! Duval County Public Schools: Teaching. Learning. Achieving.

This is the page with the pdf at the bottom that you can download: duval county public schools - about dcps - departments - facilities

Also, I noticed that the school 'profile' pages have links to the schools' individual sites. Neat
