so I see there is a new high school going up in that area.......

what is the word on that high school? Any information or words of advice for that area.

I haven't posted in a long time, but we are heading that way this summer. Probably Julyish..........

I'm torn between buying right away or renting for a bit first and then buying. It's a huge decision and especially since it would be our first home purchase AND my husband would have to do it alone I am apprehensive.

Anyway hearing that Oakleaf is putting a high school in their area is interesting. Not all Oakleaf homes have that CDD fee correct? I think I have seen a few on sites where they state no cdd fee. But knowing that we could potentially look at homes in that area and NOT have my son attend Orange Park HS is a plus. My oldest would start high school in the fall of 2010.

we're still just looking at options and hope that we can get the ball rolling on everything when he is home from deployment.

anyway hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! we are enjoying our last one in the islands and are anxious to get ready to move.

All homes within Oakleaf have the CDD. The CDD for condos/townhomes is less than single family homes. But, it exists nonetheless. While bounderies for the school have not been established, I would imagine that there will be some nearby Argyle subdivisions (non CDD) that will probably end up going there. What you saw probably said something like "Oakleaf Area". But, if they don't have a CDD they are not within Oakleaf.

As for the new high school, I believe that it is scheduled to open for the 2010/2011 school year. Becuase it doesn't have as much property as most high schools, it is going to be three floors (as opposed to only one floor with a large footprint). One thing that really intrigues me is that they have been talking about some sort of aviation program potentially being taught at the new school. I've wondered what that could be since first reading about it.
