yuck! while I am a military family and my husband flies on the p3's I can appreciate some silence. we currently live on a marine corps base and only have the navy p3's, some helo's and then jets every once in awhile. I'm just glad it's not a jet base.

however there are more squadrons moving down.....but they are p3 squadrons that are moving down there as NAS Brunswick Maine is moving their squadrons to Jax soon......In fact I know people who are house hunting down there right now.

but p3 noise is totally different from jet noise.

however that doesn't mean they aren't doing some training missions or getting ready for something there......

Lol, I'm going to assume that's a joke.

Somehow I think the problem of jet noise is insignificant compared to the general economic decline if NAS JAX closed. What does NAS account for ... about 10,000 jobs and 25,000 residents? Something like that.

Then again ... it would probably utterly destroy Orange Park's economy, while leaving lots of Jax unscathed ... hmm ... I might need to write some letters.

Heck no I don't want NAS to close, nor am I so annoyed that I want the rumbling to stop. I just have a quirk in my personality that if I don't know the "why", then whatever it is bugs me ... but once my curiosity is satisfied, I then become oblivious.

I've heard quite a lot of rumblings this am. Has anyone figured out why this is happening yet?
