i definitely thought the OP was referring to the administrators at his school in Germany.
Yes, you're right.

Thanks for all your help, I will contact Dr. Robinson office. And I think living on the campus may help me to get to know more people.

I am also at grad school at UNF (attended UNF for undergrad as well) and have had many international students in my classes. I have had a couple german, chinese, and recently a ton of french students (just to name a few).

I do agree that living on campus will really put you in touch with the school and the social scene. There are tons of events on campus including: stand up comedy, concerts, arts and dances, as well as weekly local entertainment.

You will need a car if you wish to really go anywhere off campus, which you WIll want to do. I think experiencing the "beach culture" would be a great experience for you especially since you living in a colder region.

UNF could definitely be a great experience for you depending on what you are seeking, and what you are expecting. Many of the places you mentioned (as well as how most of european cities are) are more "urban", walkable, and revolve around public tansport. THis will be much different in Jacksonville.

Feel free to ask anymore questions that you might have and GOod Luck!
