Our dog is also putting his paws on the screen in the Lanai when he is barking at the neighbor's dog. I filed his nails so it wouldn't put a tear. However, the pressure of his weight has caused it to tear from the bottom.

What are the best options for repair and who do you recommend to fix it in Orange Park?

Kids! Hmph!

I replaced the screening on my front lanai with the fiberglass type screening that is specifically made for petowners (I have a dog and a cat). I did the whole thing because my kitty likes to climb and stretch on the screening! It's been up since 2005, I think, anyways quite a few years and you can't tell the cat climbs on it. The dog (small dog) doesn't jump on it, but he will go nose right to it and it hasn't stretched or dented yet. I'm very happy with it. Sorry I can't recommend an installer, I'm in SW FL.

Maybe you could have an aluminum kick panel installed there, instead of a screen repair??

My problem is with field mice that gnaw tiny holes in the screen enclosure to get at leftover dog food. I didn't know that was possible with fiberglass. The adhesive patches they sell for screens don't really work so I just seal the holes with transparent tape at least temporarily. I think you may have more extensive damage and may have to replace the entire panel. The people that built my enclosure told me that a panel replacement would cost about $75. Ouch!

I got an estimate from one who charges $75 to come out and $2 / square foot. The ceiling is 12 feet tall and the width of the panel is about 4 to 5 feet.

Oh, well. I guess it comes out of Snowy's allowance.

This is so embarrassing - but I was out on the patio one evening and the phone rang inside and I jumped up to run inside and forgot the screen door was there (I didn't even see it?!). Needless to say, it was a disaster for the screen door and a source of much (continued) laughter from family to this day. I need the name and # for the screen repair man too!!

I am not too 'handy' with tools. The ceiling is 12 foot high and I don't have the patience, or the time.

Karla referred me to someone who will do it. I would rather pay than mess with it.

Actually, from our experience it's a real b*tch to repair. We have two more panels to do and we keep putting it off because it's so much trouble. It really takes two people to do it right.
