Thumbs up Moving to Jacksonville from SF

Hopefully you will get an answer....because I want the same info I know St. Augustine is desirable but$$$$. Jacksonville has a military base and great hospitals there and near by... That all I got so far, oh yea, Southside is suppose to to good.
I went on Zillow and searched for homes over 300k.... You can find the neighborhood that are desirable.

I will stress this. Jacksonville a great city, a great football team in the future, kick ass people, just jobs right now hard to come by. If I could do the move again. Would of waited till had more in the bank before the move.

It takes a bit to get a job. If it was not for my company allowing me to remote work for them. Still be unemployed a month later. So if planning on coming out here. Make sure you are covered at least two months.

Other then that. Try to stay out of NW section and you should be fine. It is gorgeous out here.

Riverside/Avondale, San Marco or historic Springfield!

Nine out of 10 days. It is really quiet in my apartment complex. A half a mile from Kernan Middle School.

And on the 10th day?

I don't believe the Kernan area qualifies as a nice quiet older section of Jacksonville. Nice maybe, quiet maybe, older definitely not.

There will be a condo opening in the very desirable area of Five Points in Riverside as of December 1. We are moving back to New York to be closer to family. We are currently renting this condo and the owners are great people. You can PM me if you might be interested. It is a totally walkable area to parks, museum, restaurants, eclectic shops and even a cinema. We have become friends with the owners even though 18 mos. ago we did not know them at all, but answered an ad in Craigslist when we sold our home and had to be out in a short time. It has been a great experience and we'll miss some of the amenities such as security, parking garage, concierge, and especially walking to the grocery store when I run out of an item I need when preparing dinner!

Yes, the way the City is not taking care of the parks is very, very sad.
