I am now thinking between these two areas. I like Tapestry Park because of all the walking trails for me and my dog and it seems safe and is $500 less per month in rent then Peninsula. I like the Peninsula because it is close to San Marco and seems really nice and more fun then Tapestry. Does anyone live in the Peninsula or have an opinion on Tapestry Park? All opinions are welcome!

i say 500 less per month is your answer right there! You can get to san marco in 15 min for the 1 night a week you want to go out there.

i'd stay closer into town, especially if you like the San Marco area.

Where do you expect (or prefer) to spend your free time?

- San Marco Square, Riverside, Riverwalk?
- Town Center Mall, Tinsletown, Sportsbars?

I think it comes down to lifestyle, and you'll be happiest living closer to the stores and restaurants you intend to use the most.

That being said, a $500/month difference is really extreme if you're talking about the same sized units. I strongly prefer downtown over the Southside's sprawl. But with that price difference, I'd be hard pressed to ignore Tapestry Park, especially since it's a nice little attempt at New Urbanism.
