If these are the ones on Powers Avenue, I would not live there. That general part of town (32217) is mostly fine, but Powers Avenue has some apartments where there are problems. It is a sort of light industrial/commercial area, there is also a police substation right down the road (good thing!).

If you're looking to be in 32217, I would look to the apartments on San Jose Blvd - safer, nicer spot.

I agree, stay away from Powers Ave!!! I would think Sunbeam would be ok, San Jose and Southside areas.

Good luck with the under 1000 for 3 bedrooms, you cant even get that here in atlanta which is much cheaper than jax, so maybe i would give powers a chance. Wolfson high is right there, but i do remember in high school, that area is where a lot of kids bought their drugs (i.e. weed and coke), but it doesnt seem THAT bad to me, it might be the best are where you will find what you are looking for, i myself am apartment shopping to find a 3 bedroom for 3 people in and around downtown atl and have not come across anything under 1500...yet

jon
going from 1000 to 1200 will actually get you to a nicer place, you might even look into condos.or town houses. do you have kids or pets ?
I may know of a place

I don't know Laurina Street that well, but just looking at it on mapquest I would say that spots around there can be a bit sketchy.

If you go just a bit further east you'll see Southside Blvd - there are lots of apartment choices on/in and around Southside Blvd. They tend to be fairly new and are usually well maintained. This would also place you in a convenient spot for shopping and restaurants. For your price range I would expect there to be lots of options for apartments.
