Ok,all,here we go,
It's been recommened that i post a new thread on this issue. If it's been hashed out before, let me knowOtherwise, here it is..........
How do Floridians rate their heathcare? How are the hospitals down there?
I have been debating about moving down there, but there have been some stories in the past that rate Florida healthcare in the negative. The joke I have heard is "If you want to die, move to Florida"
I hope those in the healthcare profession don't find my query offensive, but as a possible transplant,I also hope you understand where I come from.
Thanks,m

Your question is too general. Your best bet is to enquire about hospitals in a specific city or even county then post on all the forums. The quality of hospitals varies here as it does in any state.

About your "If you want to die, move to Florida", older people tend to die at a faster rate than young people and older retired people move to Florida for the weather.

The healthcare is good in Jacksonville. We have Shands Jax. for trauma, Mayo for investigative, Baptist, Memorial, St. Vincent's also has the heart services. We have lots of choices in Jacksonville and so many hospitals. Our childrens hospital rivals any in the country. I don't worry about getting healthcare for family members and if I don't find what I want, I drive to Gainesville which is very close, and its not a problem. Shands Gainesville is awesome. If you research any hospital though there will always be a couple horror stories, no hospital would be exempt.
