We will be moving back to Florida soon. I am trying to see the pros and cons of each area I am leaning toward Ponte Vedra...anyone have any thoughts as to which is better? I need good schools for my kids and Im looking for a nice area safe and not a ton of crime

Ponte Vedra is very nice and has proximity to just about everything you might need.

As for the comparison, did you mean St. Mary's, Georgia? Or do you mean Lake Mary in Central Florida?

Ponte Vedra is beautiful and the people are very friendly.
As far as schools; St. Johns County Schools are excellent and top rated in the state (St. Johns County School District - Home).

Good luck!

I love both areas, but I would pick St. Mary's Georgia for that hometown feeling if I was looking for a place to raise small children. Ponte Vedra is very nice too - but a very different atmosphere.

No state income tax in FL... and better (public) schools in St Johns County too! UNF is right nearby, as well.

Hi AliciaMaria,

I hope you are liking Ponte Vedra. It's a nice little town. We have our house on the market and looking to head back to Asheville, but wanted to say that I hope you enjoy PV.

Default Why are you moving back to Ashville?

ComSense,
Just curious why you all are leaving PV and moving back to Ashville. Both are nice places but quite different in terms of climate.
