I was just curious.

If I acquired something on the beach (or at least a beach view), which area would be better for resale?

St Augustine
Jax Beach

Ponte Vedra - I am sure is hot but also very, very expensive.

If you can "buy right" in a desirable area, it'll always be in good position for a resale. PV is definitely a hot area, but the entry point, even on a discount, may not be reachable for many. IMHO, Jax Beach is hit/miss. Look for something that's in Atlantic Beach or Neptune Beach. Obviously, the closer to the water, the better. I don't know much about St. Aug beach area.

After much shopping, I have decided upon Jacksonville Beach. I am still looking.

Why is Jax Beach Hit/Miss? Is it because of quality? The neighborhood? Schools? Access to the beach? Nearby Restaurants? Amenities?

Neighborhoods and schools can be an issue since some will find area around the nicer communities and subdivisions undesirable. But many people in those areas send their kids to private schools.

Thanks.

We will be using this as a weekend getaway or to have the option to live there on some weeks during the month - esp when my daughter is on break.. Schools won't be an issue for me. Aside from that I am going to consider renting it out, also.

Sounds nice Titanium . You should have an easy time renting it out. I think Jax Beach is a smart choice.

If you are planning on a part time place, consider Vilano Beach. Beach on one side and intracoastal on the other. Walk to either. Boat ramps nearby. St Aug is 10 minutes South, Ponte Vedra is 10 minutes North.
