Ill be down there Aug 1 and will be looking for an apartment. Probably a 1 bedroom, gated, place to park my jetski, a gym would be nice, pool, etc.

And what cost do you think that would be around? I will probably be in the baymeadows area.

I have a extended stay hotel for a week while I look around.

Thanks guys!

I recently had a short term rental at Indigo at Bartram Park during our relocation. It was very nice and had all of the things you are looking for. Many of the apts have not even been lived in yet. It was about 2 miles south on Bartram Park Blvd. They even allow pets. It was only 10 or 15 min drive to baymeadows with traffic. I have lived in several apts and this was by far the best. I only lived there for a few months but really liked it. I had a 3 br with a garage and it was 1400 a month. I know that they are running crazy specials right now and you could probably get a 1 br for way cheaper than that! There were a few JSO officers that live in ther also. Good luck.

Oh I forgot, They do criminal checks on all applicants so it is quite safe. Also there is a large shopping plaza w/i walking distance. I saw your other post about being in N VA. I lived there a few years ago in Leesburg. You will love it here. People complain about traffic but this is nothing compared to DC!

Finding an apt complex where you can also have a jetski, now that might be a little hard to do! When we visited here last Dec. to look for an apt in the Baymeadows/Southside Blvds areas, almost all of the apts that we looked at did not allow any kind of boat/jetski parking......insurance reasons we think or just lack of space. The complex we chose, Southern Pines, only allows one or two nights and the boat/jetski trailer must fit only into one parking spot. Our boat trailer is 27 feet long and there is no way it would fit into a small parking spot. We have to rent a monthly parking spot at a local Boat/RV storage close to us. When we lived close to Lake Norman, North Carolina, there were all kinds of apt complexes that had a separate parking area for boats......not here!
Good Luck.

I have a stand up ski. The trailer is 5.5 ft wide x 10.5 ft long. So it would fit in a normal spot.

Also how much does it cost to rent a spot at the boat places? Public storage wants $109 a month for a spot to put it. That seems really high to me.

we rented a garage at the apt to keep our trailer in. It was about75/month I think. I would think they would let you use a parking spot for it.

Try Courtney Meadows on Baymeadows/Gate. I rented a 2 bedroom with a garage for right at $1,000. They have several boat/trailer parking spaces that I believe are free.

Our complex will allow boat or jetski to be parked in a car spot, but only for a day or two. At our storage, boats, RV's and even tractor-trailers are there. It costs $400 per month for a large "barn" (what they call it) type structure is, but it is BIG/DEEP inside and our fee is $99 per month for a 48' outside spot. They do have 24' outside spots, but our trailer is 27 1/2 feet long. Later, after we both get full-time jobs, we may put the boat into a dry storage and not have to launch/retrieve it anymore on the trailer......that would be nice for us!
