hello,

so i visited Jacksonville this past week, and im interested in moving here. i need to know any and everything about the city. what area would be good for a young college female to move in and be close to the schools and job opportunities. i also wouldnt mind being within driving distance of a beach. my budget right now is between $500-$600 dollars. i currently live in Tallahassee, but the job market is absolutely dead. i moved to tally about 9 months ago from Orlando. im stuck between returning back to Orlando and moving to jax. please help! thanx

You might want to look into The Flats at Kernan. It is less than a mile from UNF.

This forum is a good place to start. So is metrojacksonville.com

The easiest answer is to look around UNF on the Southside. The pitfall is that it's super sprawl, and you have to drive EVERYWHERE. It's not the most vibrant place for young people.

The advantage is that you get a relatively central location in a city where you're going to be driving everywhere anyway.

I've heard that the Flats at Kernan is beautiful. It's brand new and is supposed to have everything. Would also be a good way for someone new to the area to meet folks.

Are you particularly looking for college students, to help you with your grammar or to work as security guards? If not, may anyone else in fact respond?
