We are looking for a nice hotel in Amelia Island. Price doesn't matter, I would really like to know what are the best choices. Ritz? Plantation? Others? Thanks!

Plantation is the most well-known and nicest, imo. They know what they're doing.

Thanks. Is it right on the beach? The room description said 1/2 mile from the beach, but the photos seem to show the hotel with beach access.

The Ritz-Carlton, is also right on the beach and is our favorite. The Amelia Island Concours' D' Elegance is the weekend of the 12-14 of March and the Island will be completely booked during that time frame (just a heads up).

This B&B, which made it into Condé Nast's Readers' Choice awards, is gorgeous and right on the beach:
Elizabeth Pointe Lodge
I walk my dog near near there all the time. The guests seem pretty happy.
