Holy cow! I opened my vehicle registration notice yesterday from the St. Johns County Tax Collector and my fees majorly increased over last year. Last September my Jeep cost around $35 to register and this year it's $86. My Lexus was $50 and now it's $100! Can you believe this. They are killing the taxpayers .

I should be getting my two notices any day now. I'll try to remember to post back when I get them.

I was at the vehicle registration office yesterday and they said we should register this month because in September all of the fees are doubling.

The personal property tax on my 4Runner in Charlotte last year was $400+tags and my Jeep Wrangler was $150+tages. I think I'll enjoy your registration fees!

I was told that it is $190 per vehicle to switch from out of state to Florida. Starting in Sept., it is going to double.

Considering moving to Jville and called DMV today to get an idea on vehicle registration costs. The rep told me it would be almost $400 to transfer my vehicle's registration. The largest charge, over $250, for being my 1st time registering a vehicle in the state of FL.

I wish I could double my income with no vote and no approval needed. I think it would be nice to see where all this extra money has been spent.

I'm from Jax but haven't lived there in 20+ years. Do you have to renew your plate every year? On what do they base the renewal fees? I live in Louisiana and drive an SUV. I renew my plate every two years and the fee is based upon the original purchase price of the vehicle. Just doing a general comparison for my own information.
