Hey everybody - I just moved here from South Florida after many years in the recruiting industry down there. I think this forum is wonderful and a great way for Jax residents to network and overall just get a better understanding of whats going on in their community.

I have noticed a few threads in which people were moving to the area and looking for IT work like myself. I would be remiss if I didn't offer some help or input to my new neighbors. Jax is a booming IT area with many large companies having bases of operations there from Rayonier, Landstar, ADT, Citibank, Raytheon, Alltell and on and on. I have many contacts within these companies (as well as my former recruiting contacts down in South Florida) and they are always looking for good people.

So any new residents or those tired of their current IT jobs feel free to introduce yourself and PM me. I know how tough the job market can be so every contact you make could be the beginning of a new opportunity.

aprime_oz, Your post is welcome news to me as I will most likely be relocating to Jax in the late spring/early summer of 08. I am in the IT field (Java Developer) and am always itching to get a feel for how the hiring environment is there. Jax to me seems like it has a ton of potential with their climate, proximity to the ocean, home prices, etc. Are you a recruiter? We should keep in touch for when i move down there. Thanks for your quick reply.

I hope u r still around. This thread is two years old almost. I am in need of someone that is familiar with the big companies and need good people. I am moving with my three children to Jacksonville in a few weeks. I have been looking and applying on-line with not many hits. I have found out that J'Ville is a very large city land wise. I would appreciate a listing of all the big companies that have headquarters in J'Ville and locations in the city. And anything and everything else. Everything from optimist football and cheerleading to dance schools to great spas and resorts. Thank you!!!!!
