Does anyone have experience with Wellington Companies Home Builder here in Jax? The owners are Richard Dalton and Dale Dubberley. I'm interested in hiring them but was referred to them by someone I don't know very well and who may not know them very well.

Thanks for your help!

Default Wellington homes

Hi,

I just stumbled accross this forum tonight and found your post. I am the first customer of Wellington homes, and am getting to know Richard Dalton and Dale Dubberly through the process. We have worked with them on a complete custom home, so far the process has been pleasent, good communication, and a great product (on paper - we havent broke ground yet, but should very very soon). Lately the process has slowed down a bit due to trying to get permits submitted and processed, but I do not believe it is Wellington's fault, more of a "political red tape " issue. They are working it diligently and we expect to start building on our Murabella lot in Saint Augustine this month.

hope that helps

Default Hmm

I thought they had built several homes already. Are you sure you are the first and that they haven't built others?

Are they going to build you a home in Jax or St. Johns county? In Jax, I'm can go on the city's website and search for my company and it will show the building permits that we currently have open. This could tell you how many homes a builder is currently building..... but I'm not sure if you need a password to get into this area.

Their website is www.coj.net Home Page and then select "building inspections" under service and then click on "contractor license and complaint search". Through this section you can see if the license is active, when they started their business and also if they have any complaints, etc...

Wellington is a new company, but Richard and Dale both worked for national builders for many years before. Chances are they know what they're doing.

I'm not familiar with Richard, but I know Dale Dubberly is well known in the construction market here in Jacksonville and has been for years. I've never heard anything bad about him whatsoever....and I hear everything, lol!

I have worked professionally with both Rick & Dale for approximatly three years and have high confidence in both their customer service and delivery. You are in good hands.
