What makes you think Columbus has a much better job market?

Low areas of unemployment continue to be in the low density areas, it seems... like Utah and North Dakota.

You are right!!! My favorite was hearing North Dakota has something like 4% unemployment rate. Ummm okay. If you like being the only person for miles and miles and you better own some cattle or bulls. I can't see me making a living in North or South Daota. Why would I want to freeze on my own very doorstep

Im not just looking to move because of the job market..Columbus OH Is a better than JAX for quality of living, and raising a family...(IMO). Those are the 2 most important things im looking for in my relo...the job market is kind of like whatever because im in sales and believe in my abilities..and what does Utah and ND have to do with Columbus OH?!

Comumbus got really good ratings in finding and creating jobs. I think that makes a huge difference. Most of my family are leaving Florida to go to Greenview SC (another good place) but I have to go back to school so I must stay put.

I give you credit for one thing, you always finish your opinions with IMO. So I guess you accept that other people may have different opinions from yours. There are a whole lotta folks in NEFL with decent jobs, doing well in raising their families right here in NEFL and that includes myself. It is all about personal circumstances and resources that may be different from yours.

I have never been to Columbus, OH so I have to believe everything you say it is, great job opportunities, quality of life, etc. But I gotta tell ya, for alot of people wearing winter coats 5 months out of 12 or having to deal with ice and snow is a major biggie. Or having to drive for miles and miles to find a nice beach. It is so major that people are willing to live without some of the things that you call quality of life. But I also understand if you are out of a job in Jax or in a job that is not paying well everything else around you is gonna suck (IMO).

Cricket I always try to keep things in the proper perspective... and this board (IMO) should really be all about opinions! Because we all see things differently...especially at different times in our lives. Me I have been in Jacksonville since 93, and most of that time I was in the car business making boo koo bucks! So yes now Ive been downsized like most americans, and Im starting to look around at the things this city has to offer for people that are not "well off" and I gotta tell ya cricket...Its not looking so good... I mean you wanna talk real?

OK I live on Southside BLvd, one of the main arteries on the Southside. Take a stroll from Phillips Hwy all the way up to Atlantic BLvd and what do you see as far as the eye can see? Parks, Bike trails, bustling people going about their happy lives in sunny Florida?? UM NOT SO MUCH..you see strip malls, gas stations, service roads, the occasional dry cleaners, busines parks, soccer moms in their SUVS with the windows rolled up on a perfect 70 degree florida day..but they wouldnt notice..theyve got their GPS telling them the quickest route to CHEESCAKE FACTORY over at the town center. So I guess maybe your right. Me wanting to trade my BIg box retail, and GATE gas stations on every corner, for big open spaces, 4 seasons, and proximity to other major cities may sound crazy to you...but then again..can you hear me over your GPS talking to you??
