Hello all-
My family and I will be relocating to the Jacksonville/St. Johns area in the next month or so and I am in dire need of a pediatrician. Not just ANY pediatrician...this has to be the most special ped out there if he/she hopes to replace my current one! :-) My daughter has a host of health problems, the most severe being a Primary Immune Deficiency. PIDD is a genetic problem with the immune system where it does not produce the proper reaction to a virus/bacteria but it also does not remember it. The bottom line- recurrent, odd, severe illnesses. While I am asking, maybe by some crazy luck someone on here knows a great immunologist too? We will also need a pediatric gastro, ENT, and dentist. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I would appreciate any input. We are very excited to move, but the idea of finding new doctors that I can trust is very frightening to us. Thank you all for your responses.

I'm not sure if they are taking new patients, but we've been very happy with Baptist Pediatrics (specifically Dr. Lazoff of the group). It's a very large practice & if one of my kids has an issue, they usually get us in within 2 hours. They are very connected with specialists at Wolfson & Nemours. When my son broke his leg, it was going to be a 4 day wait to see the pediatric orthopedist & my son's doctor was able to get us seen in less than 2 hours.

They have an office near Baymeadows & San Jose & an office out at the beaches (Ponte Vedra, I believe).

More than likely all the specialists you need will be at Nemours Children's Clinic. We've seen a pediatric urologist, orthopedist, & allergist there & have been extremely happy with how they have treated our child.

This is the dental practice we use. They are really good, too. They are near Baymeadows & I-95. It's a father/daughter team.

Village Pediatrics. I hope she is still accepting new patients. (904) 940-1577. You will be MORE than happier with her. She is across from Publix in World Golf Village.

Thank you for all of the suggestions!! I really appreciate it. We spend so much time in doctors offices we just want to make sure we are going to get the right doctors. And there is no better way to learn than word of mouth! :-) I will look into all of these suggestions and specifically the Children's hospitals. That is one thing we lack down here where we are from...no pedatric hospitals. We usually travel for pediatric subspecialities. Super excited not to have to travel for that kind of stuff anymore! :-)
