ok that is question 1
question 2 for you long time posters who do you use for your pool maintenance?

The reason I say "long time posters" is I do not want spammers posting use me or use xyz company. I know that may sound well lol picky but I need a reliable company that someone I know has a history with

Thanks

What area of town are you in? I used to clean pools, and then worked for a supplier after that, many of the people only work in certain areas. If you are looking for maintenance because you are unsure of how to do it many places will come to your house and give you an instructional. If you just would rather pay someone to do it, I don't blame you, I wouldn't own a pool if I had to take care of it. I have cleaned enough pools for my day.

My first suggestion would be Crown Pools (Crown Pools, Inc.). Now I have been out of the business for three years now, but in my experience these people ran a tight operation.

Another place is Surfside Pools (SurfSide Pools -Jacksonville Swimming Pools & Spas by Custom Pool Builders). This was at the time the largest pool company in Jacksonville. They are very professional and provide a lot of services.

If you want to try some active people in the business, you could always call a distributor and ask them for a recommendation. You should get an honest opinion since they work with so many different pool techs. The two I would call is SCP 904-739-3511 and Horner Express 904-730-9555.

Just a piece of advice, there are a lot of pool service techs in this area. If you are not happy with a company do not feel attached for a lack of options, you can find another one rather easily, but the two I listed above should be able to help.

Karla with a K - first question to ask is if the techs know how to remember to lock the fence gate when leaving.

Not sure that we can name names, but I am currently working with one of the companies mentioned above. The HOA wanted to replace them, but I suggested that I meet with the tech and discuss the issues and give them a chance to get back on track. I just returned from waiting an hour and they never showed up. The pool is green, has a leak that has been unaddressed for two months and gouged the HOA for a new pool pump, which three months later, is still giving them problems.

Anyone else have a pool service that is dependable and knows their stuff?

When my pool was installed, I opted for in-floor cleaners and a salt water generator. Between the two, there is relatively little maintenance or need for a pool service.
