I am a 25 year old single male that is looking into relocating to Jacksonville. I have family in the Orange Park area who I will be able to stay with, and I have setup a Jacksonville phone number for job applications and whatnot.

I currently am located in Pensacola, FL which is about 5-6 hours from Jacksonville. I have a background in call center tech support as well as IT Desktop Support and Help Desk work.

I'm wondering what would be some good places to apply? I have sent my resume to several companies on Craigslist, but not sure what other companies to try?

Just as a note, I am more than willing to drive over there to do a few interviews.

Thanks

I would suggest also getting on Monster.com and careerbulider.com.

Flipdog.com searches all jobs posted on the Net for the area and job field you want.

Thanks, I had forgot about putting my resume up on those sites. I just put my resume on CareerBuilder and Monster a few hours ago, and I already got a phone call for an interview. I also have an interview lined up with an employment agency on the same day This is looking good!!!

It really amazes me at how much better the job market is in larger cities. The city I live in now has a very poor job market and always has. I've applied for hundreds, if not a thousand jobs since being laid off almost two years ago and haven't found anything. The area where I live has always had a bad job market and currently the unemployment rate is the highest in Florida, at over 20% or some crazy number like that. I was looking into relocated to Columbus, OH and sent my resume to just a few companies and got several calls. It's nice being able to actually get an interview

You should check out LinkedIn too. Its a social network for professionals and you can connect with recruiters there as well.
