Insurance is one of our big industries. From what I hear, the big insurance companies around here are tightening their belts as much as the big financial companies. Plenty of people looking for work, getting paid less than before...it's not the worst here, but it's not the best either.
Only way to know for sure is to start applying for jobs and see what kind of feedback you get. Best of luck
