I searched this forum, and I see alot of people who are looking for help relocating. and I am also looking to relocate. I am a single mother and a student. I do get funds from my student loan so I have money and I am currently collecting Unemployment. I have to move ( owner of home losing house due to financial hardships) and decided I don't want to stay in nYC it's to expensive, here I was paying 600 mthly for a room!
I went on craig's list seen alot of ppl want income verify but if I am relocating how can I have a job? What steps can I or should I do in order to relocate in the correct way. I have looked for jobs and sent out resume's everywhere! oh and I have no car, so what area of Jacksonville is similar to nyc as far as transportation like a metro area. thanks sorry for the long story

p.s. I worked as a HHA in NYC is my certification transferable?

Hi Foxy, I would say that sharing with someone from Craigslist might be the answer. You probably would want something furnished and a place that is close to downtown where you can access the busline. I would recommend sharing with someone in Lakewood, San Marco, or Riverside. It will not be impossible but depending on the buses in Jacksonville could be a challenge. It depends on where you will be working. If you are working downtown or Southside you could get there pretty easily from Lakewood. Also make sure there is a grocery store not too far from where you will be living. Good Luck!

Thank's alot I will try and look for those area's, I was thinking of having my things driven down to me by a moving van, I have lots of stuff, my room in nyc was bigger than most studio's. Sigh hard to relocate but I can't live in nyc any longer.
