From what I understand that Winn-Dixie gas card doesn't cover all food purchases at Winn-Dixie, only certain items. They sent us that card automatically, I tried using it at a Shell, but nothing happened. We have been buying milk, butter and a few other things there for over a year, but these things aren't on the "gas card savings" buying list. Then I seen a mail advertisement for Winn-Dixie and it showed the items for sale that were connected to the gas card. If we are wrong, please do correct this.

Seems to be on the total price on our receipt. We usually get about .10 a week in rewards and the Shell by our neighborhood takes it.

I'm a Publix shopper, but do use Winn-Dixie on occasion if I just need a few things, as well as Grass Roots for more in-depth organic stuff.

Publix is the nicer, cleaner, friendlier chain but tend to run a little more than most. They are a proud chain, and they have every right to be. It's highly regarded, and regarded as a good place to work also.

I used to shop Winn Dixie, but stopped and havn't returned in several years, things at one point got pretty bad at a large portion of their stores in quality and cleanliness. They've been trying hard to repair their image, but their ad campain and jingle is a constant reminder for me of older days. "Getting better, Getting better every day...". While it's true based on what I hear, I'm too satisfied elsewhere that they need to screwup before I start looking for another 'main' grocery store.

Surprisingly, for pretty much everything but the simplest perishables, most of the Wal-Mart Supercenters are good for saving on the prepackaged consumables at a cheaper rate than Publix.

I wouldn't even touch most Food Lion's. Literally, don't touch em.

There isn't a CostCo nearby, so it's BJs or Sam's. I've used all three, but none of them are the big discounts they used to be. Mostly buying things for the same price, just in large quantity and in some cases can still shop cheaper elsewhere. I find myself making fewer trips to wholesale clubs cause it's not quite as beneficial on everyday consumables as they were in the past. Maybe it's just my choice in products....who knows.

Plenty of others, but I'm one for routine. I stick to what works, what I know until they screw up or tick me off so you'll have to hear about the 'others' and the niche stores from the rest.
