Have any of you noticed the new Jaguar commercials? I have never liked jags before, but the new XF is certainly a fine looking car. I'd never spend the money for one, but it looks like Jaguar is finally trying to make a name for itself again.

I have never been a fan of Jags either, but agree the new one looks great... too rich for my blood, but nice to look at anyway.

I have to guess that those who've never been Jag fans are too young to remember the E-Type? Still looks great 40+ years down the road!

I wish them wel and hope the new XF recaptures some of that magic.

I mostly remember the XJ6 from the 1980's, they were total crap mechanically. The new XF has better styling than Lexus or BMW, hopefully they will be reliable as well. Didn't Ford sell Jaguar recently?

Ford's been in talks with Tata Motors of India being a possible buyer but I don't think the deal has been finalized. Tata is the same company that recently showed their $2500 car for domestic sales.

The E-Jag was a mid-late '60s design that still looks good today, was less than $6K for a genuine 150MPH sports car, quite an achievement at the time.

Jaguars are probably the most unreliable luxury cars you can buy. I've seen more of those pulled over on the interstate than any car, luxury or not.

Jaguar is my favorite marque, and as a Jag lover, it's pretty looking, I can't wait to see it in person since most cars that I end up loving don't photograph nearly as well as they truly look in person.

I'm a little upset that Jaguar doesn't give as many nods to its heritage in this car, but it least it doesn't look like a Bangle... and although I like the old S-Type, I'll admit that we all know where it got them... so perhaps a good thing.

Hopefully though, as they try for a new era in design language, they don't go too outrageous on the new XJ when it comes due in a couple of years. Premium saloons need to cater to a different, generally more refined look than their midsize counterparts, rather than sport (and needs to be able to sell as a Daimler too, should Jag keep the marque open). Even Chris Bangle knew not to fuss with the 7er too much.

I'm too young to remember them being around but that doesn't mean I haven't fallen in love with them. Ultimately, I'd love to find one. But I also love the XK8. Not the most recent ones, but up to '05. THey've got the jaguar lines. The new ones aren't so elongated and look more chopped up.
