Wait a second - you're reviewing resumes for an Administrative Assistant? You who have posted how boring your job is - so boring that you email your married male friend 12X a day as well as posting on other CD forums? And you're part of the hiring process at your place of work? I'm speechless!

Maybe the OP should hire their obese friend for the Admin Asst position?
All those catchphrases are just "fluff", but as long as employers keep USING them in their ads, applicants WILL keep using them in their responses.
Better that employers start to actually say what specific skills.experience THEY need for the position at hand, rather than themselves taking the lazy way out to ad writing.
Just my .02
Absolutely. The phrases are BS, we all know they are BS but if they aren't on there the resumes are deemed incomplete and weak.
Things are so slow at work that they want to hire me an assistant. I would not present a 360 pound applicant to my boss. Or people whose resume is full of empty statements.

So basically you've answered you own question posed in your other thread. I see.

You don't sound like a supportive friend, IMO. I wonder how your friend would feel if she knew you were discussing this on a public forum and passing judgment about her for being obese.
In an automated modern day world most of us are applying online and many HR departments have a program that scans for "key words" and if they are not IN the resume even though they have demonstated the skills in the resume they will be overlooked.
