I interviewed with a big, well known financial services company this morning.

Check out my The Lost Art thread.

Anyway,

I was waiting for the HR director, Regional VP and General managers to interview me.

Another fella walked in dressed UNLIKE he was going to a job interview. As a matter of fact I heard him say: he did not know what time he was supposed to be there nor did he know the name of the person he was to speak with. He was interviewing for a "labor" position. I guess he figured he did not need to know anything.

The guy I am talking about is the person(of many) that "inspired" me to write The Lost Art post.......

I could not help but to think: "there is no way in hell that I would hire this guy. He WAS NOT prepared."

Several other employees of the firm had to come out and try and figure out whom he was supposed to met with. They finally figured it all out.

I'm not sure if it'll be held against him or not but, I was embarrassed for him.

Why oh why can't we leave the foul language/foul mouth stuff out of Threads?????? It's very-to-extremely annoying to some people! We all know what WTF stands for, but why even put it on this Forum? Perhaps I'm just one of the "oldies" that just doesn't think it's appropriate!

I agree, it comes across as arrogant.

It may sound crazy but you don;t know the whole truth. Let me know if he got the job or not. Did you get the job?

When the secretary calls, and tells you that you have an interview Tuesday morning...or even better, that you have a job, just come in Tuesday morning ready to work, many people will just show up on Tuesday morning. No one told them who to speak to...and they didn't ask.

In my current job, I didn't know who I was supposed to talk to that first day, my only point of contact was with the HR guy. Now we don't have a dedicated HR person in the store.
