It's in Detroit.

While the cost of living is relatively high, the unemployment is also the highest in the country.

Nothing really, but your comment did come off as quite snarky.

Not only that but the jobs seem like the opposite ends of a football field when it comes to "people skills."

LOL! I used to work in the technology field. While there are a few who are pretty social, I have seen my fair share of techies who do fit the stereotype. However, I have managed to get a few of them to talk more after they got to know me .

I was thinking today - -

Dont companies know that by not training people now, they will not have people in place when the boomers start retiring en masse in the next few yrs?

Just another way American companies shoot themselves in the foot by living quarter to quarter!

That isn't a 1099 contract job, it doesn't meet the test. You can NOT set employees hours and convince the IRS that the worker is not an employee. Heavy duty penalties for misclassifying employees as 1099 contract workers........

Except, WarTrace, it is most likely a mom and pop corp whose size would not merit IRS notice if their office were next door.

I've always taken it to mean "our hiring managers don't know their head from a hole in the ground, so we actually are ignorant that our ad means you can come work for our $hitty company for $hitty wages where you too can be treated like $hit while working with other dumbasses like ourselves."
